NAMIBIA - SOUTHERN AFRICA
Namibia has got it's independence from South Africa in 1990 and since then tremendous development took place in general but also on the tourism front. Namibia is now a sought after destination with tourists all over the world. The Namibian landscape is often referred to as a land of contrasts, because of its variable climate and vegetation.
Photographers often cannot believe what they see when they first visit our spectacular dunes at Sossusvlei, or the wide landscapes of the southern-Namib region. The coastline of Namibia is mostly devoid of vegetation because of the climate with very little rainfall. Bird-lovers will find a visit to Walvis Bay very rewarding with it's lagoon sometimes full of flamingos and pelicans.
Traveling through the rough terrain of western-Namibia up to Etosha National Park, where photographers often encounter excellent photo opportunities with an abundance of wildlife which, with the exception of the buffalo, include the Big-five.
